Add Monochromatic Makeup To Your Beauty Routine

Makeup trends keep on changing and new versatile options keep on coming for makeup lovers. Even if it’s a hot summer day or a freezing night, ladies want to opt for easy yet flattering makeup style to wear, compliment their hair, and be ready to go. Not everybody is fond of wearing that heavy makeup every single day because sometimes a soft slap on in a rather haphazard manner seems to be quite okay and is what actually needed.

A very recent update in the makeup style has been observed commonly known as ‘Monochromatic Makeup’. This style is known since decades but has recently been in fashion again. As the name implies, this technique requires only one shade to be applied on eyes, cheeks and lips. One might want to use the shade that compliments one’s dress color.

You might have heard about the ‘Matching lips and tips’ style where one is required to wear same shade of lipstick and nail paint. Monochromatic is similarly based on the same technique of matching hues of eyes, cheeks and lips. A number of celebrities have been seen applying the monochrome style of makeup and its having a great moment these days.

It can also be referred as the ‘Lazy girl makeup style’ because it requires a very small portion of your time. There’s no need of spending hours on getting your makeup done. Getting the products with same color family and with a few touch-ups you get the required trendy look.

Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube are filled with tutorials one can check out to get an idea of how to get the work done. It is quite simple and easy to learn as you just have to choose one shade that suits your skin tone and apply it away. You can mix and match the colors too. The colors that go best with the monochromatic theme are pink, red, orange, bronze and brown. Nude shades are also quite in these days and they go well with this theme too. But you can pick more vibrant colors as well as it all depends upon one’s own interest and liking.

The first step is to decide your base color which is a very important step and it should be decided keeping in mind your skin tone. If you have applied pink as the base color then go for a medium shade of pink on the eyes, a bit lighter shade of pink on cheeks and a deep pink color for the lips. Or one can also apply one singular shade or product on lids, lips and cheeks. Bareminerals offer a wide range of base colors, blushes, bronzers and eyeshadows. You can take the makeup items from a single brand or you can again go for mix and match option. Lipstick Queen is one of the best options for lipsticks where you can get any shade you want.

One thing should be kept in mind that it is not necessary to follow exact steps, one can always be creative about adopting trends. For instance, except for matching shades for eyes, lips and cheeks, you can lovingly match your eye color with the dye color you’ve applied on your hair. It’s a game of mix and match, you can modify it in whatever way you like. You can get all adventurous about it.
